Application Guidelines & Reguirements
Human Resource professionals provide important services such as attracting and retaining workers, managing benefits and compensation, providing training, and managing HR information systems just to name a few. Carolinas Chapter of SHRM joins the National Society for Human Resource Management in being "committed to advancing the human resource profession and the capabilities of all human resources professionals to ensure that HR is an essential and effective partner in developing and executing organizational strategy."
The Carolinas Chapter of SHRM will award two five hundred dollar scholarships (CC Scholarship and the "Sons & Daughters" Scholarship) to deserving students. The CC Scholarship will be awarded to an undergraduate or graduate student whose career focus is Human Resource Management. The "Sons & Daughters" Scholarship will be awarded to a child or grandchild of a current CC SHRM member. Note: Students applying for the "Sons & Daughters" Scholarship are not required to major in Human Resource related studies.
The South Carolina State Council will match CCSHRM's scholarship winner by 50%.
All awarded scholarships will be made out to the University of choice for the Scholarship winner.

2011 CCSHRM Scholarship Award Winner
Charlotte Brown
Charlotte is currently attending Winthrop University and plans to graduate in December 2011. She is majoring in Business with a concentration in Human Resource Management. She is an active Winthrop University SHRM member and serves as Vice President of Communications. In addition to pursuing her degree, she presently volunteers for AmeriCorps.
She has received the CCSHRM scholarship valued at $1250.
$500 is provided by CCSHRM along with a matching $500 contribution from the Charlotte Chapter of SHRM plus an additional $250 from the South Carolina State SHRM.

2011 Sons and Daughters Scholarship Award Winner
Elizabeth Wheeler
We are happy to announce that Elizabeth Wheeler has been awarded the 2011 Sons and Daughters Scholarship.
Elizabeth is currently attending Clemson University majoring in Engineering. She is a current member of Alpha Lambda Delta, National Honor Society. In addition to her academic achievement, she has been active in several community service projects. She is the daughter of Keith Wheeler, CCSHRM Member.
